Ritmo 130TC

Buitendijk, Bastiaan (Netherland)

2010 - October - 25

The car is a 1983 model, imported from Germany in 1995 and restored and overhauled in 1995/1996. I bought it in 1997 and finished the cosmetic restauration. After driving some 6.000 km with it, only in summer, I stored
it in 1999 in a dry place under a carcover. Took out the battery, put a little oil on the pistons and that was it.

Last July –after 11 years- standing still we put in a new battery and made a dry run without the sparkplugs. After that, it started at the first try and within minutes
of choking it ran like it has never been stored on the old gasoline. Since then I go for a ride every weekend and it is doing very well. No oil consumption at all, no leaking parts etc..

The next thing to do this winter is to install other seats (they have shrunk, or I may have grownJ), 6 points safetybelts and a rollcage. In future I want to us the Abarth for historic rallying.

By the way I also own a youngtimer Escort MK2 for the racetrack, which is for sale.
